Buying guide · ten questions for any vendor

How to choose garage management software

Every vendor's demo looks good. These are the questions that tell you what happens after you sign — ask them of RevIXO or anyone else you're considering.

Ten questions to ask any vendor

A checklist you can take into any demo, including ours — questions, not product names.

Can I export all my data, at any time?Ask exactly what a full export contains and in what format — not just an invoice list, but customers, vehicles, history and jobs.
Who actually confirms a booking? If an AI or an online form can book a slot, ask whether a person at the garage confirms it before the customer is told it's set.
Who sets the prices — me, or the software?Ask whether any automated quote can go out at a price you didn't set or approve, and what stops it.
Is the price shown VAT-inclusive?Ask whether the figure quoted is what you'll actually pay, or whether VAT and fees are added at checkout.
What's the contract term, and how do I leave?Ask about notice periods, minimum terms, and what happens to your data and your customers' data if you leave.
Where is my data hosted and stored?Ask whether customer data stays in the UK/EEA and how it's encrypted, particularly for anything containing personal contact details.
What happens when something can't be quoted automatically?Ask what an AI or automated system does when it genuinely doesn't know a price — does it guess, or does it hand off to a person?
Are text or call allowances a hard cap, or "unlimited"?Ask what actually happens once any stated allowance is used up — a hard stop, or a silent extra charge.
How long does onboarding actually take?Ask whether setup is self-serve or assisted, and for a realistic range based on a garage your size — not a guaranteed date.
Can I speak to the people who built it?Ask who you'd actually talk to if something goes wrong — a support queue, or someone who understands how the product works.

3 founding pilot places run every plan free during the pilot, including the AI voice receptionist (300 minutes a month), with operator-assisted setup and a direct line to the builder. Subject to pilot terms — details on enquiry.

Buying-guide questions, answered.

The essentials before you book a demo.

Should I ask every vendor the same questions?

Yes. The point of a fixed list is comparing like for like, rather than being sold on whichever feature a demo happens to show off.

What's RevIXO's own answer on data export?

A full data export is available on demand, and offboarding keeps a read-only window rather than an abrupt cut-off.

What's RevIXO's own answer on who confirms bookings?

The AI takes the request and holds the slot; a person at the garage always confirms it. Nothing is booked or billed by the AI alone.

What's RevIXO's own answer on pricing?

The price shown is the total you pay each month; VAT is included where it applies and isn't added at checkout. There's no annual contract at launch.

What's RevIXO's own answer on data hosting?

Customer email and phone are encrypted at rest, and staff access is limited by role. See the full detail on the security and data page.

Bring this list to your demo.

Ask us every question above. We look at your services, your diary and your setup, and answer them against your actual garage.

  1. Book a short demo
  2. Bring your own list, including this one
  3. If it’s a fit, join as a founding garage—operator-assisted setup and a direct line to the builder

It runs in a browser, so there’s no new kit to install. Founding garages run free during the pilot; standard plans start at £89 per month after launch, including VAT where applicable. Onboarding is operator-assisted, and we won’t promise a setup timeframe until we know your setup.
